Kaixo Bihotz Lovers,
High prices, low style, and poor quality: in today´s blog we´re going to dismount the most common misconceptions about sustainable fashion.
1. Sustainable fashion has no style
For some reason (which we don’t understand to this day), there is a popular belief that sustainable clothing has a bit too hippie-style, making it difficult to fit in with the latest trends.
However, this is only one of the possibilities for being able to dress more ethically, as there are now many other options and brands of men's and women's fashion that offer sustainability and style in equal parts in each of their models.
You can dress sustainably, be fashionable and, at the same time, contribute to a more responsible form of consumption.
2. It´s difficult to find sustainable brands
This is one of the most common beliefs. We tend to associate sustainable clothing with very complicated processes, a selection of very specific materials, and so on. The first thing we tend to think of when we think of this type of garment is: "but where are we going to find something like this? It can't be easy".
Although it´s true that it is still difficult to find shops that offer sustainable fashion on the street, there are more than a few cities that already offer these more responsible shopping possibilities. Physical shops are gradually making their way into the cities to offer sustainable fashion within everyone's reach.
In addition, the vast majority of sustainable brands have an online shop. In this way, they eliminate intermediaries and the costs associated with setting up in a physical space, being able to offer much more competitive and affordable prices.
3. Sustainable fashion is very expensive 🤑
This is another of the most widespread myths. Sustainable fashion is based on values that are defended by each of the agents involved in the production process. This includes decent wage conditions for workers and toxic-free processes that do not abuse the planet's natural resources. These factors will obviously be intrinsically linked to a higher but not exorbitant price. Therefore, it's not that sustainable fashion is expensive, it's that we need a change of mentality towards a new and more conscious way of consuming in which we buy less quantity, but better quality. So, let's learn to take care of our clothes so that they last longer.
4. You never know if it´s really sustainable or not 🌱
It´s also not uncommon to be suspicious in this respect: being eco-friendly is trendy and companies can see it is easy to profit from it. If we´re suspicious in this respect, there are a couple of things to bear in mind when identifying sustainable fashion. One of them is to look at the fabrics with which the garments are made: organic cotton, bamboo fibre, tencel, hemp or linen are some of the most ecological and sustainable materials that exist.
On the other hand, if we want more guarantees, we can also pay attention to whether the brand we are investigating has some kind of certification. For example, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) ensures that there has been no animal abuse. The GOTS certification gives us the assurance that the textiles used are 100% organic and the GRS certification guarantees the recycled content of the product.
5. Buying sustainable fashion will not impact the textile industry
The truth is that, in fact, our custom and habits are the key to bringing about change in the world. Companies produce products and services according to what consumers demand. So, through small daily acts we can gradually change the demand 🌍 🌿
And now that we have demystified most of the excuses, will you join our tribe as a responsible consumer? We've been waiting for you! 🤗

MODA JASANGARRIARI BURUZKO 5 MITO
Kaixo Bihotz Lovers,
Prezio altuak, estilo gutxi eta kalitate txarra: gaurko blogean moda jasangarriarekiko aurreiritzi aipatuenak desmuntatuko dizkizugu.
1. Moda iraunkorrak ez du estilorik
Arrazoiren batengatik (gaur egun ezagutzen ez duguna), jendeak uste du arropa jasangarriak hippy estiloaren itxura handiegia duela, eta zaila dela azken joerak jarraitzea.
Hala ere, hau, modu etikoago batean janzteko aukeretako bat besterik ez da; izan ere, gaur egun, gizonezkoen eta emakumezkoen aukera eta marka jasangarri asko daude, produktu bakoitzean iraunkortasuna eta estiloa neurri berean eskaintzen dituztenak.
Modu iraunkor batean jantzi, modara joan eta, aldi berean, kontsumo arduratsuagoa batean egitea gaur egun posiblea da.
2. Zaila da marka iraunkorrak aurkitzea
Hau sinesmen arruntenetako bat da. Arropa iraunkorra oso prozesu konplexuekin, material oso zehatzekin eta abarrekin lotzeko joera dugu. Horrelako jantziei buruz pentsatzen dugun lehenengo gauza hau izaten da: “baina non aurkituko dut horrelako zerbait? Ezin da erraza izan”.
Nahiz eta egia izan oraindik zertxobait zaila izatea kalean moda jasangarria eskaintzen duten denda asko aurkitzea, geroz eta gehiago dira erosketa arduratsuago horiek eskaintzen dituzten hiriak. Pixkanaka hirietan zabaltzen ari diren denda fisikoak, denen eskura moda jasangarria eskaintzeko.
Gainera, marka jasangarri gehienek online dendak dituzte. Horrela, bitartekariak eta espazio fisiko batean ezartzeari lotutako kostuak ezabatuz, eta askoz prezio lehiakorragoak eta merkeagoak eskaini ahal izateko.
3. Moda jasangarria oso garestia da 🤑
Hona hemen mito zabalduenetako bat. Ekoizpen-prozesuan parte hartzen duten agenteek defendatzen dituzten balioetan oinarritzen da moda jasangarria. Horrek barne hartzen ditu langileentzako soldata baldintza duinak eta toxikorik gabeko prozesuak. Faktore horiek, jakina, berez prezio handiago bati lotuta egongo dira, baina ez horregatik gehiegizkoa. Beraz, ez da moda jasangarria garestia izatea, pentsamoldea aldatu beharra daukagu kontsumo kontzienteago baterako, kantitate gutxiago baina kalitate hobeagokoa erosiko duena. Horrela, arropa zaintzen ikasten dugu denbora gehiago iraun dezaten.
4. Ezin daiteke jakin marka benetan jasangarria den ala ez 🌱
Era berean, ez da harritzekoa alderdi honekiko mesfidati egotea: eco friendly izatea joera da gaur egun, eta enpresa askok ikus dezakete horretaz onura lortzea erraza dela. Alde horretatik mesfidatiak bagara, bi gauza hartu behar ditugu kontuan marka jasangarri bat identifikatzerako orduan. Horietako bat arropak egiteko erabiltzen diren ehunei erreparatzea da: kotoi organikoa, banbu-zuntza, tentzela, kalamua edo lihoa dira materialik ekologikoenak eta iraunkorrenak. Bestalde, berme gehiago nahi izanez gero, ikertzen ari garen markak ziurtagiriren bat duen ere begiratu dezakegu. Adibidez, PETA (Animalienganako Tratu Etikoaren Aldeko Pertsonak) ziurtagiriak dio ez dela animaliei tratu txarrik eman. GOTS ziurtagiriak segurtasuna ematen digu erabilitako ehunak %100 organikoak direla eta GRS ziurtagiriak produktuaren eduki birziklatua bermatzen duela.
5. Moda jasangarria erosteak ez du eraginik izango merkatuan
Egia esan, errealitatean, gure ohiturak funtsezkoak direla munduan aldaketak egin ahal izateko. Kontsumitzaileek eskatzen dutenaren arabera sortzen dituzte produktuak eta zerbitzuak enpresek. Beraz, eguneroko ekintza eta aldaketa txikien bidez, eskaria pixkanaka aldatzea lortu dezakegu 🌍 🌿
Eta orain aitzakia gehienak desmitifikatu ditugula, kontsumitzaile arduratsuen tribuaren parte izatera animatzen zara? Zain geunden! 🤗
